Our History:

Unitec Recycling Corp. has been processing collected E-Waste from the Du Page County and the surrounding suburbs with over 50 years of combined professional experience.
Unitec's Recycling operations have diverted an estimated:

- 195 tons of E-Waste from Illinois Landfills over the coursbe of the years 2009
- 364 tons have been diverted over the course of the year ending in 2010

Since Unitec began it's operations in 2004 it consistently strive to deliver quality recycling services to its customers and the surrounding communities through the use of recycling drives and programs designed to facilitate E-Recycling Awareness.

Unitec is particularly proud of its association with a number of charity nonprofit organizations to whom it has brought significant amounts of refurbished equipment for use in overseas as well as domestic missions and schools.

Like wise, Unitec has diverted great quantities of E-Waste from Illinois landfills through cost-effective material recovery and returning these byproducts back into the resource stream.

Unitec Recycling Corp. has been the primary processor/refurbished of discarded electronic equipment which includes computers and peripherals such as monitors (CRT's), CPU's, keyboards, mice (computer kind), printer's, laptop's etc. and in addition other electronic equipment such as facsimile's, copier's, radio's, dvd player's, calculator's, cell phone's, telephones and other business machinery from the Villa Park municipality as well as the surrounding communities of Oak Brook Terrace, Elmhurst, Lombard, and Addison and West Chicago. URC also picks up discarded equipment from an estimated 160 corporations throughout the Chicago Metro Suburban Area (MSA), NE Illinois and a number of downstate urban Illinois communities.

Fast Comprehensive and seamless approaches to our customer's electronic device repair, retirement or refurbishment needs.
• An Effective E-Managment system that supports a 100% elimination of toxic materials from end of life electronic devices (E-Waste), in our communities ecosystems.
• The recycling of key products (plastic, precious and semi precious metals etc.) so as to reduce dependence on depleted reserves of these materials in our current global supply stream.
• Maintaining a security system to eliminate the risk of "information theft" from discarded computer equipment. Unitec is compliant with HIPPA and FACTA regulations.
• Heightening awareness and education of consumers in the communities we serve, regarding the four R's of E-Cycling.

Bench Mark and Commitments


Two benchmarks of Unitec's commitment to sound environmental recycling and disposal processes are:
-In 2010 Unitec became an IL registered recycler and has serveral OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) for whom we managed product recycling in this state.
-In 2011 Unitec has scheduled its Stage 1 audit initiating the process to achieve R2 Responsibility Recycling Certification, one of two officially recognized certifications exclusively for the computer and electronics recycling field.
